The problem
Independent salons get pushed into per-seat SaaS that needs constant connectivity, charges per booking, and cannot be bent to local rules. Owners in the Gulf additionally need Arabic, RTL, AED with 5% VAT, and hammam/henna service catalogues out of the box.
Built with
- Vanilla JS (zero-dependency core)
- Supabase / Postgres + RLS
- Realtime sync
- Edge Functions (Deno)
- PWA + Service Worker
- Claude API (optional)
The approach
- 1
Offline-first architecture: the entire product is one dependency-free app with local persistence, so a dropped connection never stops a front desk mid-service.
- 2
Optional cloud layer (Postgres + row-level security + realtime) that adds public online booking, multi-device sync and automated reminders without changing the core app.
- 3
Role-based access for owner, staff and accountant, with a capability map enforced in both the UI and the mutating code paths.
- 4
Region presets for the US (USD, sales tax) and UAE (AED, 5% VAT), plus full English/Arabic localisation with true RTL layout.
